WHO WE ARE

The Writer's Midwife is owned and operated by Elizabeth Ridley, author of four novels from major publishers: THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF MISS TRANBY QUIRKE (Little, Brown & Co., UK, and Bold Strokes Books, NY); DEAR MR. CARSON (The Permanent Press, NY); RAINEY'S LAMENT (Little, Brown & Co., UK, and The Overlook Press, NY); and THROWING ROSES (The Permanent Press, NY).

In addition to her own books, Elizabeth has ghostwritten more than a dozen novels, memoirs, general non-fiction books, and feature film screenplays. With over 18 years of experience in the publishing industry, Elizabeth has worked with more than 200 authors and authors-to-be.

Elizabeth has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master's degree in creative writing from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.

For several years Elizabeth taught in the Novel Writing and Advanced Novel Writing Workshops through Writer's Digest School. In addition, she has taught courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Annual Writers' Institute and has spoken at the International Women's Writing Guild Big Apple Writing Workshops, the Guildford Book Festival in Guildford, England, and many other venues.
